Icy-blue meanders like a waterfall through the crags and crevices forming the sides of this elongated Oribe wall vase by young artist Ito Katsuhiko enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The vase is 17 inches (43 cm) long and in fine condition, with a metal ring on back for hanging. Katsuhiko was born in Tsushima, Aichi prefecture in 1964, and raised in the heart of Mino ceramics. He apprenticed under Kato Shuntei in 1985. He has been displayed publicly at the Nihon Dento Togeiten (National Traditional Crafts Exhibition as well as numerous private exhibitions.
