Chestnuts, the prickly harbingers of autumn, hang from the leaf leaden branches on this exquisite platter by Izukura Yoshiko enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled: Iro-e Kuribayashi Zu Kazari-zara (Colored Chestnut Forest Platter). It is 16 inches (45.5 cm) diameter and in excellent condition.
Izukura Yoshiko is a female potter active in Ishikawa prefecture. She has exhibited with the Issui Kai art organization, where she has received many awards, since 1984 as well as the Nihon Togei Bijutsu Kyokai Ten (Known as the Tobiten).
