A superb example of the mature style of legendary artist Kanjiro Kawai dating circa 1948 enclosed in a kiri-wood box annotated by his daughter and former head of the Kawai Kanjiro Museum Kawai Koha. A floral spray in Gosu colors decorates the white covering the simple elevated form. The bowl is 12 cm (4-3/4 inches) diameter, 11.3 cm (4-1/2 inches) tall and in excellent condition.

Combs teeth have been dragged through the glaze of this stately bowl by one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, Kanjiro Kawai. A fine example of this artists work circa 1938 enclosed in the original signed wooden box titled Kushime-wan.
