Hidashiki straw lines char deep red into the raw clay sides of this smooth Bizen vase by Yamamoto Soshu enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The vase is 9-1/2 inches (24 cm) diameter, 7-1/2 inches (19 cm) tall and in excellent condition. Soshu is the wife of the eldest son of Yamamoto Toshu.

A slight deviation from the norm, here is a scroll depicting the character Tsubo by Shigaraki artist Koie Ryoji in liquid strokes, the outer lines dissipating into the paper canvas. A large slab of clay has been bent, torn pinched, and wrent into an abstract dish by Contemporary artist Kakurezaki Ryuichi enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The dish is 57 by 26 cm (22-1/2 x 10-1/2 inches) and is in excellent condition. There are some minor dings and dents to the wooden box lid.
