By Appointment is best. You might get lucky just popping by, but a great deal of the month I am out visiting artists or scouring up new items, so days in the gallery are limited.

A slender ash encrusted form by Kido Akihiko mounted with a metal ring for hanging and enclosed in the original singed wooden box. It is 12 inches (31 cm) long and in excellent condition. We are coming into the seasn when a single red camellia and a few green leaves are all that is needed, and this vase is perfect for that.
Kido Akihiko was born in 1956, and studied pottery initially in Mashiko at the Tsukamoto Kiln before moving to Bizen in 1976, entering the Sanrei-gama in 1978. He has exhibited at the Okayama Prefectural Art Exhibition, the Nihon Dento Kogeiten National Traditional Crafts Exhibition as well as the Nihon Togeiten National Ceramics Exhibition among many others. He now helps to raise the next generation in a tutorial position at the Sanrei-gama kiln while creating works in his own kiln built in 1989.
