Smooth black Yuteki glaze with white spots like bright lights in the star studded sky with white interior, alongside a white body sculpted without, a fine set of Yunomi Drinking cups by Living National Treasures Shimizu Uichi enclosed in the original signed wooden box. Each cup is 4 inches (10 cm) tall, 2-1/2 inches (6.5 cm) diameter and in excellent condition dating circa 1970. Shimizu Uichi (1926-2004) was born in Kyoto the son of a ceramic dealer. A square Tetsu-e bowl by important artist Hamada Shoji enclosed in the original signed wooden box. Dark checkers alternate with bamboo branch-like floral sprays on the freckled earth. It is 7-1/2 inches (19 cm) square, 2 inches (5 cm) tall and in excellent condition.

An Exquisite rugged Hagi vase by Living National Treasure Miwa Kyusetsu X (1895-1981) enclosed in the original signed and stamped wooden box in turn enclosed in a black lacquered wooden box. A swatch of pale slip circles the dramatically textured oni-clay peppered with fine silica stones, a strong statement. The red earth is revealed around the base, accentuating the dynamics of the pot. A spectacular Shigaraki vase by Tani Seiuemon (b. 1913) enclosed in the original signed wooden box. Huge chunks of ash cling to the front of this Shigaraki vase, the broken and melted rim has fallen and lies embedded on the shoulder. Shinshoku wares like this Shigaraki piece, where the fire has eroded but not destroyed the work, are highly prized fortheir wabi-sabi.
