Delving into the roots of modern ceramics we offer this large Tsubo by Kitamura Wazen featuring a roosting cock in relief between art deco style windows enclosed in the original signed wooden box dating circa 1933. It is 15 inches (38 cm) tall, roughly 10 inches (26 cm) diameter and in perfect condition. The Wazen kiln has spanned three generations specializing in porcelains with an emphasis on sencha tea ware. It has served as a starting point for any number of prominent modern artists.

An Aka-ji Kinsai vase by Suzuki Kiyoshi enclosed in the original signed wooden box dating circa 1965. The Koma-form vase (in the shape of a spinning top) is decorated largely I a swatch of red, with gold florals and alternating blue and red stripes at the top and bottom.
