An exquisite four-lobed seafoam-green Tsubo by Miyashita Zenju enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The form is perfection with opposed ribs on each of the lobes, single on two lobes, and double on the lobes with handles. It stands 9 inches (23 cm) tall and is in excellent condition. Zenju (1901-1968) studied pottery in Japan, Korean and China, and is held in the Kyoto Municipal Museum of Art as well as the Kyoto National Museum. A striking series of concise patterns underlie the deep purple and green glaze on this large ichirin-sashi vase by Living National Treasure Tokuda Yasokichi III enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The box is signed Masahiko, dating it pre 1993 when he succeeded the family name. Cranes and gold filigree decorate the incandescent blue of this meticulously formed tall dish enclosed in the original signed wooden box by Kawase Junichi (Kawase Chikushun II, 1923-2007), father of Kawase Shinobu. The dish is 11-3/4 inches (30 cm) diameter, 6-1/2 inches (17 cm) tall and in perfect condition. Junichi was born eldest son into the Kyoto pottery family of Kawase Chikuo.
