A deep flower basin with wide flange rim by sculptural potter Uno Minoru enclosed in the original signed wooden box. The unusual form is covered in a smooth, pale green, cool and soothing. Our flower arranger saw the receptacle and immediately exclaimed ‘this is the perfect basin for arranging flowers’. It is 12-1/2 inches (31.5 cm) square, roughly 3 inches (7.5 cm) tall and in perfect condition.

The glaze on this sculpted form by The Bear of Echizen Kumano Kuroemon (also Kurouemon) is covered in the most fantastic crustations of glaze. Thick white over scarred red over shatterd black on an unconventional shape the artist has titled marukawara (round tile). It has Tomo everything, Artists history, wrapping cloth, with his ubiquitous calligraphy all over the signed box. A proud striated egg shaped orb floats above the square block forming the base of this sculpture by Matsumoto Hideo covered with enigmatic graffito. The object is 12-1/2 inches (31.5 cm) tall, 4 x 7 inches (11 x 18 cm) at the base, and is in excellent condition. This piece was purchased from an exhibition held in October, 1993, and a copy of a Newspaper article introducing the exhibition is enclosed with the piece. A fantastic Mimitsuki fresh water container with rolling, sculptural corners very much in the style of the highly sought Bizen master Kakurezaki Ruichi enclosed in the original signed wooden box. It is 7-1/2 inches (18.5 cm) tall, 9 inches (23 cm) wide and in excellent condition, dating circa 1998. A large pottery box decorated with oribe patterns over textured Seto clay by Suzuki Goro enclosed in the original signed wooden box. Iron designs in orange fill are supplanted by splashes of Oribe green. Inside the lid dragonflies circle over a snake in the base. A radical Iga Koro incense burner by unconventional artist Kishimoto Kennin (b. 1934) enclosed in the original signed and stamped wooden box. Red clay studded with shiseki feldspathic stnone is worked into a globular form with three triangular windows, the sides fissured by deep folds in the clay. The piece is 6-1/2 inches (17 cm) tall and in perfect condition.
